Fractured or damaged hinges
We inspect hinges for fracture, wear, looseness, and damage that is affecting the way panels fold or sit.
Pro-Lock · How it works
Pro-Lock repairs the full range of faults that can leave a bifold door sticking, dropping, dragging, catching, or difficult to secure. We find and address the underlying cause rather than applying a short-term fix to the visible symptom.
What we regularly repair
From individual components to a complete doorset overhaul, Pro-Lock checks how panels, frame, running gear, seals, and locking hardware work together. A complete doorset overhaul is a repair option used when frame distortion is beyond the manufacturer’s tolerances and/or panel realignment cannot compensate for the degree of frame distortion. It can include structural repairs where the frame is distorted, but not every complete overhaul requires structural frame repair. Parts availability determines which compatible options can be quoted.

Failed or disconnected rollers can make a doorset heavy, noisy, or difficult to move.
We look at panel position and connected hardware rather than adjusting one visible symptom in isolation.
The assessment establishes whether panel height, alignment, running gear, track, or frame is making contact.
A door that needs force at the handle may have an alignment, hinge, roller, keep, or lock issue.
We assess closure and security hardware and confirm whether a suitable repair or replacement part can be sourced.
Tracks, guides, magnets, catches, and other working hardware can wear or become damaged over time.
We check seals alongside panel position and closure, not as an isolated quick fix.
Where appropriate, we check the manufacturer-specific glazing packers that help keep the sash square and level.

Cause, not just symptom
Pro-Lock checks the complete doorset and aims to return it to operation as intended by the manufacturer, rather than treating only the immediate symptom. This helps prevent unnecessary stress transferring to mechanical components, reduces the cycle of repeat repairs, and maximises long-term reliability and service life.
Multiple measurements and detailed observations help identify distortion, alignment issues, components beginning to fail, and underlying causes that could reduce the doorset's lifespan. Seasonal changes in temperature, sunlight, and weather can make panels and frames expand and contract, so a temporary adjustment may not be enough.
Addressing only the visible symptom can lead to repeat repairs, replacement parts, and avoidable additional cost, so the assessment looks for the cause as well.
Assessment before repair
Your assessment is carried out by an experienced engineer, not a salesman. We complete an in-depth assessment of all aspects of your bifold doorset, talk you through the findings while we are on site, and provide the information in the report that accompanies the quotation for any repairs recommended. The £79 professional assessment visit lasts 45 to 60 minutes. No repair work is carried out during the assessment. The report and itemised quotation then follow by email, so you can understand the findings and options before deciding whether to proceed. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, the £79 assessment fee is credited against the repair cost, so you do not pay for the assessment in addition to the repair. The fee is also refunded if suitable parts are unavailable and we cannot provide a quote, or if the doorset is considered beyond economical repair.
Payment is only taken on completion of the agreed repair work, once you are satisfied with the result.
01
We inspect the frame, panels, hinges, rollers, tracks, seals, locks, and the relationships between them.
02
You receive a comprehensive report and itemised quote by email after the visit.
03
You decide whether to book the repair, with no pressure to replace the doorset.
After the repair
All work carried out is backed by our market-leading 12 month warranty, covering our workmanship and any parts supplied and fitted as part of the repair where applicable. We do not supply or fit new bifold doors, so the recommendation stays focused on the condition of your existing doorset.
